After almost two months of absence, I’m back! I knew it was not going to be easy to wake up everyday at 07:30 a.m. (I’m definitely not a morning person…) but I really believe that I need this in my routine; and the prove is that everything was running well while I sticked to the plan, during April. When I started neglecting little things of my routine, I ended up neglecting ‘big things’ and thereafter I got frustrated and at last stopped publishing here.
This blog project came up when I decided to work at home, as Mr.0730 is working in Dublin – Ireland (and now temporarily, till early November, in Marseille – France) and my mom is living in Portugal (and we have our home in Portugal), and I need to be with both, something not so easy with a standard full time job. Even assuming that I’ll move permanently to Dublin (as I intend to do in November, when Mr.0730 will be back to his base – being Portugal, after that, just a kind of holiday home – because I belong with my husband and we want to be parents sooner or later, etc.), being Mr.0730 on a 5 days on lates – 3 days off – 5 days on earlies – 2 days off roster (so the days off are only on saturdays and sundays from time to time), and adding to this the fact that it is very difficult in his business area to schedule the typical summer , Christmas, and Easter holidays, etc., just the idea of me working the traditional nine to five, Monday to Friday, seems insane. Even more so in a country that isn’t mine, far from my closest friends and family; I think I’d go mad. Because of all this, I really need this project of working at home to work, and to prove Mr.0730 that this is the right decision. When I have work to do to a specific client, with a specific deadline, I have no problem to fulfill my duties, but additionally I have a personal project that is not moving forward as I wish, because of my lack of routine and again I’m counting on this blog to help me. And I won’t give up! 🙂
With this post I’m also inaugurating a new {0730} feature – {0730} working at home – because there are plenty of subjects related to it that I feel the need to share and discuss with people in the same situation, so, if you are one of those people, feel free and welcome to share some advice and your own concerns.
